Oscillators, filters and envelopes

Darkstar gives you four oscillators, split into two modules. Each module offers Sine, Tri, Saw, Square and Noise waveforms, so you can layer tonal and noise sources within one patch.

Each two-oscillator module has its own ADSR envelope. Each module also feeds a filter bank with a full ADSR envelope and LFO controls. The filter types are LP, HP, BP, BR and PK, which covers low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, band-reject and peak responses.

Space, echo and driver modules

Beyond the core synth engine, Darkstar includes a Space Generator module, an Echo Box module and a Driver module. These sit in the signal path to add ambience, repeats and saturation to a sound.

The developer describes the interface as professionally designed, and states that the plugin uses very little CPU. The 32-bit build can run on 64-bit systems through jBridge, as noted in the system requirements.
