01Overview

CS1V Console Channel is built around the character of a console channel strip. Its Drive control increases the level of saturation, while the Tone control shapes the preamp character: turning it anticlockwise darkens and adds weight in the low range, and turning it clockwise adds progressively brighter high-end harmonic boost. Two selectable preamp modes, A and B, give you a darker overall voice or a flatter frequency response.

Sound, Drive and Tone Controls

The Drive control sets how much saturation the plugin applies, so you can move from subtle coloration to a more obvious push. The Tone control works across the spectrum, with its low-end weight and high-end harmonic boost giving you a clear way to shape the top and bottom of a sound.

The preamp mode switch gives you two voicings. Mode A is darker in character overall, while Mode B keeps a flatter frequency response for a more neutral result. A phase switch is included for handling polarity issues.

Channel and Buss Modes for Mixing

The default Channel mode is intended for mono tracks. When you insert CS1V on stereo tracks or aux channels, the Buss setting adds a subtle amount of crosstalk, similar to the behavior of a hardware mixer.

An automatic gain control (AGC) option attenuates the output to match the source volume, which helps when comparing processed and unprocessed signals. The Group control links all instances that share the same number, so you can adjust several channels together when making ensemble changes.
