Yamaha C3 Sound and Articulations
The core of CHROMA is a Yamaha C3 grand piano, recorded across more than 23 velocity layers with 8 round robins for the mechanical sounds. This layering is meant to make repeated notes sound less mechanical.
Beyond standard playing, the library includes mallets, brushes, palm mutes, e-bow and chains. These articulations are adjustable and can be combined within the instrument, which gives you a wider palette than a standard piano patch.
CHROMA also provides four freely adjustable microphone positions, including A/B, X/Y, ORTF and submic, so you can shape the room and stereo image in the mix.
