Sound and Three Playing Zones
Cajongo produces three main notes, following the same sonic principle as a bongó. The female section covers the lower sounds, the male section covers the higher sounds, and a middle section sits where the wooden bridge would be on a traditional bongo.
The sound resonates through the hollow bottom of the instrument, which is the basis for the character captured in the samples. Its wooden drumhead is struck by hand, so the library focuses on the tonal contrast between the three zones rather than on a single fixed pitch.
