Sound Source and Character
Caja Boruka is based on recordings of the caja boruka, a drum that developed from the traditional quebé as cultural tourism grew around the danza de los diablitos. Sounds of the Earth describes the drum as made from pejibaye wood and fitted with a different tie using tannery leather processed with acids.
The library includes 498 Kontakt samples, so the instrument can be played across a range of articulations and dynamics. The developer also notes that these drums come in several sizes, which gives a producer a sense of the tonal range within the instrument family.
