The expansion adds 16 snares, 14 kicks and 19 toms. The samples are unprocessed, which leaves room to shape them with EQ, compression and other effects.

The kits span modern Noble and Cooley drums, early 1960s Ludwig and a Gretsch jazz cocktail kit. Steven Slate Drums says the recordings were made to sit in a mix without much extra work.

Every drum has its own close mic, overhead and room channel. All snares include bottom mic samples, so you can add or reduce snare wire buzz.

Layering with TRIGGER 2 sample channels

TRIGGER 2 provides six stereo sample layers. You can combine the Deluxe samples with the classic Steven Slate samples across those channels, so you can build a blended drum sound from several sources.

The package is designed for phase accurate drum replacement, so replaced hits align with the original audio in time.

What do I need to use the TRIGGER 2 Deluxe Expansion?
