01Overview

The pack covers the core elements of a liquid drum and bass track: basses, polysynths, pads, stabs, leads and effects. Each preset is built around macro controls, so you can shape tone and the amount of effects without digging through the full patch. The developer says the sounds aim for a jazzy, soulful character, with reference points including artists such as Commix, Alix Perez, Spectrasoul, Zero T and Calibre. The presets run inside Massive and need no other synth.

Preset Categories and Sound Design

The collection is split into six categories: 34 basses, 20 poly sounds, 20 pads, 11 stabs, 8 leads and 7 FX presets. That gives you a broad set of starting points for a full liquid track, from sub and mid-range bass to chords and atmosphere.

Each preset uses Massive's macro system. Macros let you control the tone and level of the applied effects together and quickly, which makes it easier to adjust a sound to fit your mix. The presets also offer numerous track automation options, so you can build movement across a arrangement.

Included Extras and Demo Material

Beyond the synth presets, 5Pin Media includes 59 WAV loops and one-shots for drums, bass, synths and vocals. These are the sounds featured in the developer's demo track. The drums used in the demo come from the developer's Liquid Drum & Bass Horizons pack.

The bundle also contains 27 MIDI files to help you start grooves and melodies quickly, giving you ready-made material to work from alongside the presets.
