Rock Drum Sounds and Kit Pieces

The pack includes five bass drums, four snares, five toms, a hi-hat, a ride, two crashes, a splash and a china cymbal. Bass drum options include Fire, Red, Thunderstream, Tight and Oak, all 22 by 18 inches. Snare choices include Star, Sphere, Titan and Massive.

The samples were captured in a drum room that the developer describes as one of the greatest in Europe. A mic selector lets you choose from three space simulation effects and blend them in with a dedicated FX control.

Presets, Articulations and Workflow

Each of the 20 kit presets is named after a rock reference, such as Back in Black, Under the Bridge and Thunderstruck. Hertz Instruments says each one is balanced to sit in a mix without further processing, though you can tweak any kit to taste.

The pack adds 13 hi-hat articulations and seven snare stroke types. The left and right hands can play these independently, which the developer says helps replicate the feel of a real drummer's playing.
