Fame & Fury adds thirteen drum presets to Hertz Drums 2, designed for producers working in core, djent and metal. Hertz Instruments says the presets were created by metal listeners and producers Slawek and Wojtek Wieslawski, and aim to deliver a huge, crisp modern metal drum sound without extra post-processing. The pack targets producers who want a ready-made starting point for heavy drum tones in their mixes.

Sound and Character of the Presets

Hertz Instruments says the presets were modeled on the drum tones of several genre-defining metalcore and djent albums, including records by Bring Me The Horizon, Underoath, Periphery and Killswitch Engage. Each of the twelve main presets is described as heavily inspired by one of those albums, and a bonus preset was created by Lukasz Jackowski.

The developer describes the samples as polished and the presets as balanced, so they are intended to sit in a mix without further processing. Presets are named after song titles, such as Sempiternal, Miracle and Watch The World Burn, which gives a quick reference to the style of each sound.

Kit Pieces and Included Samples

The pack uses the Hertz Drums 2 kit pieces to build its sound. The kit includes two kick drums, a Devastator 22 by 18 inch and a Deathblow 24 by 18 inch, along with two snares, Titan and Core at 6.5 by 14 inches.

The toms range from an 8 inch Fury to a 16 inch Fury across five sizes. The cymbal set includes a 14 inch Blackout hi-hat, a Fury Hammer stage, three crashes, three splashes and two china cymbals, giving producers a full kit for heavy arrangements.
