Bass Essentials for Current is a preset pack of 50 bass sounds for Minimal Audio's Current synth, organized into 808, DnB, dubstep, future bass and house categories. It is developed by The Tone Foundry and requires the latest version of Current.
Bass Essentials for Current from The Tone Foundry is a bass preset collection built for Minimal Audio's Current synth. The pack covers five styles: 808 basses, drum and bass, dubstep, future bass and house. Each category contains ten presets, and the pack adds 50 bonus WAV files. The developer positions it as a toolkit for deep, powerful basslines that can sit across different genres. It is a practical starting point for producers who already work in Current and want ready-made bass sounds to edit.
The pack is split evenly across five styles, with ten presets in each: 808, DnB, dubstep, future bass and house. The developer describes the set as a range of foundational 808s, dubstep wobbles and pulsing DnB rhythms, all intended to fit into a mix across genres.
Because the presets are grouped by style, you can move quickly between a sub-heavy 808 bass for a trap or house track and a more animated dubstep wobble without building sounds from scratch.
These presets require the latest version of Minimal Audio Current, so check that your copy is up to date before loading the pack. The 50 bonus WAV files are included with the download.
The pack does not include the drum loops or vocals used in the demo track. The developer notes that those elements appear only to demonstrate the sounds. A teaser pack is available from the developer if you want to try some of the presets before buying the full set.
