XO: Drum Sample Browser and Beatmaking Plugin by XLN Audio Free Download

XO scans the one-shot drum samples you add to it and sorts them by similarity. The developer describes XO Space as a way to move through your sounds regardless of where the files are stored. When a sample catches your ear, nearby sounds in the space offer alternatives without digging through folders.

Filters and search narrow the library to the sounds you need. XO also handles duplicates and vague file names, so a messy sample collection stays usable. A Live File System Monitor tracks changes in the folders you have added.

The built-in sequencer is used to create patterns directly in XO. Groove Templates provide curated timing feels, and the Accentuator adds dynamics to a pattern. You can nudge patterns to push them toward a rushed, urgent feel or a looser, sluggish one.

Playground Mode randomizes or swaps patterns and sounds, one at a time or all at once. Finished beats can be dragged into your DAW as audio or MIDI, either as individual samples or as a whole beat, tweaked or raw.
