01Overview

VATRA is built around a five-control finishing workflow. Ignite raises perceived loudness and density without limiting peaks, Heat adds tape-style saturation, Punch shapes transients, Weight reinforces the sub range and Air adds harmonic detail at the top end. The developer states that the internal processing does not clamp peaks, so the dynamics of the source material stay largely intact. The plugin is designed for both mix bus and single-track use.

Sound and Character Controls for Mix Finishing

Ignite has three modes, CLEAN, COLOR and MAX, which set how much character the added loudness brings. Heat is a tape saturation stage that ranges from analog warmth to grit when pushed. Punch restores snap and impact, which is aimed at drum processing.

Weight is a sub reinforcement control meant to solidify the low end and reduce mud. Air is a harmonic enhancement control that brings out high-frequency detail and presence. Flame Sound describes the signal path as Weight, then Ignite, Heat, Air and Punch, running at 4x oversampling.

Workflow, Level Matching and Comparison

Louder processing often sounds better at first listen, so VATRA includes Peak Match on the OUT control. Right-click OUT to level-match the processed and unprocessed signal, which makes comparisons fairer at equal loudness.

Every control shows a value readout, and an Advanced panel offers deeper adjustment. Separate IN and OUT controls handle gain staging. The plugin includes a preset library to start from.
