01Overview

UAP is a Kontakt instrument built around an experimental sound engine for producers who want strange, cinematic and unusual textures. It covers playable leads, atmospheric pads, drones, soundscapes, hits, risers, whooshes, braams, wavetables and rhythmic loops. The developer describes it as a way to push music and sound design in unexpected directions. Its controls range from effects and modulation to randomization, and it can also work with your own samples. Because it is a full Kontakt instrument, it requires the full version of Kontakt rather than the free player.

Sound Character and Built-In Effects

UAP is built around a set of named controllers that shape the sound in distinct ways. The Flying Saucer big knob blends the sound across multiple sound dimensions. Green Fireballs bend time and space, while Signals control delay level and feedback.

The Anti-Gravity section offers 35 unearthly effects, and Lift provides 41 time-dilation effects. Propulsion adds movement and pulsing, with Amplifier changing the rhythmic subdivision of that motion, Emitter changing its shape, and Reactor adding tube distortion.

For hands-off results, the Autopilot control and the CASE randomizer are both available. CASE randomizes effects and parameters as well as choosing a sample.

Sample Import and the Dilation Workflow

UAP lets you drag and drop up to 128 of your own samples into the engine using the Abduct Your Samples feature. You can then tweak them inside the instrument.

The Dilation button takes the last sample you played and stretches it across the whole keyboard, creating a new patch in seconds. This makes it practical for turning a single sound into a playable instrument.

The package includes 20 ready-made instruments in NKI format, with names such as Deepspace, Granular Environment, Gravitational Waves and Phoenix Lights.
