01Overview

Mechanics of Noise is built from noise generators, transformers, test equipment and old modulators, reworked into contemporary sounds. Have Audio developed the library with Swiss film composer and sound designer Urs Bollhalder, who recorded and processed analog synthesizers to capture older, electrical-sounding textures. The library suits film and media composers who want dark, rhythmic and mechanical material, as well as producers looking for gritty analog-style sounds.

Textures and Sound Character

Have Audio says the library was recorded at high quality, then tweaked and processed digitally to give the sounds a contemporary flavour. The content ranges from noisy, crackling one-shots to tempo-synced loops and other noise textures.

The three instruments are Mechanics of Noise Acoustic, Mechanics of Noise Electronic and Mechanics of Noise Dystopian. Together they cover a broad range of electrical and mechanical tones, from subtle underscoring to bursts of harsh, overloaded noise.

Keyswitches and Built-In Effects

The instruments are organized into keyswitched sound banks, including Polarity disorders, Machine clockwork, Transistor love, Dystopian hits, Machine fury, Noise clouds, Overloaded circuit loops, Crackpot loops and Electrical spasms.

Each instrument includes built-in effects: a high pass filter, delay, a low-end drone impulse response, a convolution effect with subtle LFO-modulated cutoff, and tube distortion. These let you shape the textures inside Kontakt before they reach your mix.
