Three Handmade Guitars and Their Sound

The library covers three instruments: a warm nylon-string guitar, an articulate six-string steel guitar and a wide, resonant twelve-string. ZAK Sound describes each one as built individually by luthier Nicolás Barberis, with a wave-shaped soundboard.

Sampling is chromatic and captures multiple velocity layers, so softer fingered notes and brighter attacks are both available. The three microphone perspectives, a neck mic, a bridge mic and an XY stereo image, can be blended to shape the tone from warm to focused to open.

The Multiple Playing Characters mappings cover open strings, lower frets, thicker strings, picked articulations and natural harmonics, which gives more ways to play the same instrument.

Guitars, Nature Textures and Presets

Beyond the guitars, the library includes playable pads made from streams, waterfalls, birds and other environmental recordings from Los Hornillos. These layers can be used on their own or blended with the guitars inside Raizes Player.

The library includes 91 presets, ranging from natural acoustic performances to ambient, cinematic and evolving sounds. It also has 50 MIDI files, including Ambient Progressions, Fingerpicked Trails, Mountain Arps, Open Chords, Sierra Melodies and Valley Rhythms. The MIDI files are optional, since the instruments are fully playable without them.
