Sound Character and Source Material
The library is built on everyday field recordings, sirens, blasts, nature sounds and distorted late-night shortwave radio broadcasts. Mask Movement describes the material as raw and unpolished, recorded with basic hand-held equipment in uncontrolled city and forest environments. Its sounds are grouped into categories including alarms, risers, stingers, impact FX, nature FX, radio tones, voices and textures, and sub-synth sustains and staccatos.
Because the samples are mapped to a keyboard, they can be played as melodies, pads and percussion. Layering different recordings lets you build complex textures, solo instruments and synth-like sounds from the same source material.
