01Overview

Quadrant 2 is a multi-effect plugin built around a modular patching environment. Glitchmachines designed it to bring the hands-on feel of patching hardware modules into a software workflow, with the addition of multiple instances and DAW integration. Version 2 adds four module slots, fourteen new modules and a range of refinements. Producers can use it to process drum loops, soft synths and external hardware, or set up self-generating patches that work as a sound source.

Modular Patching and Signal Flow

Quadrant 2 lets you populate up to 12 slots with modules chosen from a library of 50. Each populated slot provides up to four input and output nodes, and these connect through virtual patch cables. Nodes have built-in attenuators and can send and receive several signals at once, which makes complex modulation setups possible.

The signal flow is open-ended, so you decide how modules feed each other. Because a patch can generate its own signal, the plugin works both as an effects processor and as a sound generator. The module range covers oscillators, effects, sequencers and utilities.

Presets and Scalable Interface

Quadrant 2 ships with more than 100 factory patches, organized into three banks. Glitchmachines has also added a preset bank system, so additional banks can be loaded alongside the factory set. The user interface can be scaled to suit your screen.

The factory patches show both external processing and internally generated effects, giving you starting points before you build patches of your own.
