01Overview

ProDrummer 1 is built around drum kits that arrive already mixed, so you can place them in a track without starting from raw samples. Each kit can be adjusted, and a 16-channel mixer gives control over every drum and its bleed and room microphones. The kits were recorded in five studios, from dry to very wet, which gives you a range of room character. Alongside the kits sits a large MIDI groove library, a Songbuilder sequencer and a set of processors, so you can move from groove search to a finished drum arrangement inside one plugin.

Pre-Mixed Drum Kits and Processing Chain

The kits in ProDrummer 1 come with processing that the developer has already set up. Inside the plugin you get SSL-based EQ, compression, a transient designer and a stereo bus compressor. EastWest also includes Ohmicide, a multiband distortion, compression, EQ and filter tool that can be used to create EDM-style drum sounds or to synthesize drum sounds from scratch. An amp simulator adds further processing, and a reverb with 726 presets covers room and space options.

Each drum has its own channel in the 16-channel mixer. You can swap individual drums within a kit, tune them and stack them, for example layering two snares. This makes it possible to shape the kit to fit a specific track rather than working only with the default sound.

MIDI Grooves, Songbuilder and DAW Workflow

ProDrummer 1 includes over 14,000 MIDI grooves, categorized by style, length and tempo. You can use these grooves to build a drum part, then arrange it with the built-in Songbuilder sequencer to create a complete drum track inside the plugin.

The plugin can sync to your DAW so the groove tempo matches your project. A drum velocity processor with a velocity graph lets you adjust dynamics and add punch. When the drum part is ready, you can drag drum tracks into your DAW to continue building the rest of the song.
