01Overview

Nørdic Bass Clarinet is designed around playability and realism. The sampling was performed by clarinettist Achille Succi, and the instrument covers a wide range of articulations, from legato, staccato and slap to low frullati, evolving playable articulations and textures that the developer describes as never sampled before. The instrument is built for film composers, performers and producers who want a bass clarinet that responds to performance and can be shaped beyond its acoustic sound.

Sound Sources and Articulations

The instrument offers two sound sources. Mic / Warped lets you solo or blend the acoustic sound of the instrument with a sound-designed layer. Ice blends multiple samples to create large, cinematic results.

The articulation set includes true legato, staccato, slap and low frullati, along with playable articulations and cinematic textures. A reverse button and a dynamics control for sustained articulations give further options for shaping phrases.

Engine Controls and Effects

The Nørdic engine includes an arpeggiator with five modes (Up, Down, Up-Down, Down-Up and Random), running up to 32 steps across four octaves. Time Warp stretches time-based articulations and textures to fit a tempo, performs accelerando and ritardando, and generates drones and effects.

The engine also includes 82 convolution reverbs, a delay algorithm, and six additional effects (EQ, Compression, Saturation, Chorus, Phaser and Leslie), each with three controls, plus four FX macros you can assign freely.

You can import up to 48 of your own samples or loops by drag and drop, with envelope controls on imported material. When you import a loop, the engine detects its tempo, and the HOST button syncs it to your DAW.
