Sound Sources and Tape Character
The instrument includes 64 sound sources, organized into six categories: synthetic tones, synthetic chords, synthetic textures, arpeggiation, hybrid and reel noise. Each track renders the sources slightly differently, and each of the four playback modes changes the character further, so the same patch can sound distinct across tracks.
The hybrid patches use electro-acoustic instruments such as sax, electric guitar, bouzouki, saz baglama and persian santoor, processed through tape machines for an out-of-tune, wobbling tone. The reel noise set is sampled from vintage tape machines with no input, adding hiss, wobble and motor crackle to other patches.
