01Overview

Hollywood Fantasy Orchestrator is built around a scoring engine that turns MIDI input into layered orchestral parts. Its presets are organized into four categories: Ensemble, Ostinato, Score and User. Ensemble presets combine strings, brass, winds, percussion and full orchestra into ready-made arrangements. Ostinato presets create rhythmic and melodic motion, including patterns in different time signatures. Developed in collaboration with Sonuscore, the plugin is a separate product from Hollywood Orchestrator and works only with its own library collection.

Ensemble and Ostinato presets for fantasy arrangements

Ensemble presets load combinations of instruments for string, brass, wind, percussion and full orchestra textures. EastWest Sounds gives the Strings and Brass Legato preset as an example. It loads a mix of Flugelhorns, Alpenhorns, Wagner Tubas, Low Brass, Hardanger Fiddles, Viola Da Gambas and string sections across octaves.

Ostinato presets focus on rhythm and short melodic cells. Sub-categories are organized by note value, from quarter notes to sixteenth notes. Variations include 3/4, 5/4 and 7/8 meters, so you can build rhythmic tension or moving lines by changing only a few notes.

Score presets, User storage and the Voices section

Score presets are based on classic Hollywood fantasy orchestrations. Themes are grouped in sub-categories, and each theme has several variations, including alternative time signatures. EastWest Sounds describes Score as a source of ideas for new compositions.

The User category stores your own presets, whether you modify an existing one or build an ensemble from scratch. The developer also notes a Voices instrument section, which adds to the strings, brass, winds and percussion sections for a total of five sections.
