01Overview

FreqTube FT1-EMU is aimed at producers who want the character of analog tube processing inside a digital session. The plugin is built on component-level circuit modeling derived from a SPICE reference model of the original FreqTube FT1 unit. Freqport says this approach reproduces the electrical interactions between components rather than relying on static captures. Tracks can be processed with drive, harmonics, filtering and signal flow controls, with full automation and recall. An optional connection to the physical FT1 hardware lets you switch between emulation and real tube processing using the same controls.

Tube Saturation and Circuit Modeling

FT1-EMU uses a quad tube engine with two E83CC tubes for bold saturation and two 12AT7 tubes for smoother harmonic warmth. Freqport describes the model as refined using measurements of the hardware unit and optimized for real-time performance.

The component-level approach aims to keep the nonlinear behavior and dynamic response of the original circuit, which matters most on material where saturation changes with input level.

Controls, Filters and Workflow

Deep tone control covers drive, harmonics, filtering and signal flow. The primary and parallel multi-mode digital filters are inspired by the topology of the analog hardware.

The plugin runs across multiple channels with consistent behavior. Every parameter can be automated, and presets and sessions can be recalled, so settings stay repeatable across a project.
