AmpKnob Trivium Rhythm: Amp Simulator Plugin by Bogren Digital

The amp has three boost modes. Green Boost delivers a clean, sparkly tone that can be pushed to the edge of breakup, and this mode also includes a lush reverb. Orange Boost starts at crunch and, with the gain raised, can produce a distinctive, heavy distortion. Red Boost is aimed at high-gain playing, with a high-octane tone and plenty of clarity for fast picking.

Together the modes cover clean, crunch and high-gain rhythm sounds within one amp model.

The rhythm amp includes two cabinets, Modern and Vintage, both captured at Fascination Street Studios. The speaker cabinet, microphones and recording chain were chosen and dialed in by producer Jens Bogren.

The plugin uses Bogren Digital's IRDX (Impulse Response Dynamix) technology. Standard impulse responses capture a cabinet's tone but are static. IRDX adds dynamic speaker behavior using machine learning methods that reconstruct the difference between a real cab and an impulse response. You can also disable the cab or load your own impulse response from within the plugin.

The standalone version includes built-in recording, so you can capture ideas without opening a DAW. It also has a metronome where you can change meter, set accents or add automatic speed increments, which lets you practice without taking your hands off the guitar. A built-in tuner is included as well.
