Sound and Character of the Electra Tone
The library is built around a Hohner Electra, the instrument Steinberg chose as the basis for Amped Elektra. The developer says the instrument was fully restored before recording, and the sound was then reamped through three vintage amps.
Steinberg describes the tone as warm and funky, which points to its intended use in soul, funk and jazz arrangements. Because the signal passes through amplification, the presets are meant to sound like a finished guitar-amp style electric piano rather than a raw recording.
