Sound and character of the Warm Pickups presets

The presets aim for a warm, rounded bass voice rooted in bass guitar tone. Iceberg Audio describes the sound as organic, with a light touch of funk.

The attack switch is the main tone control. With it off, the sounds stay as smooth sub bass. With it on, a guitar-like pluck is added to the front of each note, which helps the bass cut through a mix while keeping the body warm.

The developer says the patches contain some stereo width for effect, but the lows are kept phase aligned, so the bass stays solid in mono.

What is included and what you need to run it

The expansion includes 13 sub bass presets: Acacia, Ash, Baobab, Cactus, Cypress, Elm, Eucalyptus, Fir, Larch, Maple, Oak, Palm and Pine. They load into The Sub, so the instrument itself is required.

The expansion needs the full version of The Sub 1.2 or later. It does not work with the trial version of The Sub. An internet connection is required for activation.
