01Overview

Urban Soul is a preset expansion pack for The Sub, the bass synth from Iceberg Audio. The developer describes it as a way to bring soulful character to a production through warm sub bass sounds. The pack's sounds draw on the sound of classic hip hop and R&B, making it a fit for producers working in those styles or in related genres that rely on a full, warm low end. Each preset is named after a herb, and the pack requires the full version of The Sub to load and run.

03In depth

Warm Sub Bass Sounds for Hip Hop and R&B

The Urban Soul pack contains 12 sub bass presets for The Sub. Iceberg Audio says the sounds are inspired by classic hip hop and R&B, and the developer presents them as warm subs meant to add soulful vibes to a track.

Because the presets are built for the low end, they are a starting point for bass lines, 808-style patterns and sustained sub support under chords or vocals. Producers can load a preset, play it in the key and tempo of their track, and adjust it to fit the mix.

The pack is an expansion for The Sub rather than a standalone instrument, so it works only inside that synth.

Requirements and What to Know Before You Buy

Urban Soul requires the full version of The Sub 1.2 or later. The expansion will not work within the trial version of The Sub.

Activation requires an internet connection. Make sure your copy of The Sub is licensed and updated to version 1.2 or later before loading the pack.

The pack is listed in the Instruments category under Expansion Packs, so it is best suited to producers who already use The Sub in their workflow.
