Sonic Atlas Expansion: Dholak-Tabla Kit by Pitch Innovations

The kit pairs the dholak's bounce with the tabla's clean, sharp articulation. The dholak's low side bends in pitch when pressed with the palm, while its high side is bright and snappy. The tabla contributes precise hits, rolls and quick fills.

These small variations in attack and pitch are the detail that makes a percussion groove feel played rather than programmed. The kit is built around recorded performances by six musicians, so the timing and touch of each hit come from real players.

The pack contains 285 loops and fills for dropping complete rhythmic phrases into a project, and 1,302 one-shots for programming your own patterns. Solo, duo and full ensemble patches let you play the instruments individually, in pairs or as a full group from a keyboard or controller.

Use the loops as a starting point for a groove, then layer one-shots from the tabla and dholak to add detail and fills where the arrangement needs them.
