Psytrance for ImPerfect is a preset expansion for ImPerfect, the synth from W. A. Production. The pack is built for psytrance producers who want starting points for basslines, leads and plucks. Its 60 presets are split across three categories, so you can find a sound for each role in a track without building patches from scratch. Because the presets use ImPerfect's parameters, you can adjust any of them to suit your own taste. Every preset is 100% royalty-free.

What Is Inside the Psytrance Preset Pack

The pack contains 30 bass presets, 20 lead presets and 10 pluck presets, for 60 sounds in total. The bass presets cover the low-end role that drives much of a psytrance groove. The lead presets give you melodic voices for the top line, and the plucks offer short, percussive tones for rhythmic and arpeggiated parts.

Each preset is designed for the ImPerfect engine, so you can load one and shape it with the synth's controls rather than working in a separate instrument.

Using the Presets in a Psytrance Workflow

The developer describes ImPerfect's sound engine as quirky and unique, and says it is well suited to crafting unusual sounds for psytrance. Using the expansion, you can start from a bass, lead or pluck that already fits the genre and then adjust its parameters to change timbre, movement and character.

Because the pack covers all three roles, it works as a single source for the core melodic and low-end elements of a psytrance arrangement. You still need ImPerfect itself to load and edit the presets.
