Lo-Fi Hip Hop for Babylon 1 is an expansion pack of 120 presets for the Babylon 1 synth from W. A. Production. It is aimed at producers making lo-fi hip hop, chillwave and chill-hop.
Lo-Fi Hip Hop for Babylon 1 is a preset collection built for the Babylon 1 synthesizer. It contains 120 instrument presets, including jazzy horns and keys, retro atmospheres, lush strings and softer textures. W. A. Production says the sounds were designed to support the calm, nostalgic mood of lo-fi music. The presets can be used as starting points or edited and saved as your own sounds. This pack is an expansion for Babylon 1 only and is not compatible with Babylon 2.
The pack focuses on the relaxed, nostalgic sound associated with lo-fi hip hop. W. A. Production describes the presets as covering jazzy horns and keys, retro atmospheres, lush strings and soothing sounds.
The developer says the presets were inspired by artists including jinsang, Swarvy, Nymano and Chilled Cow. They are meant either to be used directly in a track or to serve as a base for further shaping.
According to W. A. Production, Babylon lets you micro-tune any preset, add effects, adjust LFO and ADSR settings, apply filters and set modulation.
The presets also work with Babylon's scale helper, which turns a root note into a scale for melody writing. This makes the pack useful for producers who want to change a sound and then build melodies around it.
