01Overview

The HALO-2 Expansions Bundle adds sound libraries to DHPlugins' HALO-2 software instrument. It does not include HALO-2 itself, so you need the full version of HALO installed first. The bundle groups six expansion packs covering a wide range of styles, from analog-style leads and pads to jungle-influenced subs and heavy bass sounds. Each pack combines presets with sample banks, giving producers a starting point for both sound design and sequencing within HALO's processing and sequencers.

Sound Range Across the Expansion Packs

The bundle is organized into themed packs. Cyberfunk covers a broad range of moods, with sweeping soundscapes, subs, melodies, chord sequences, plucks, arps and leads, and the developer says it was built from resampled analog synthesizers. Mono-Synth focuses on monophonic material, including reese basses, leads, pads, chord combinations, subs and stabs.

Junglist is aimed at jungle and drum and bass production, with pads and sequences, subs, stabs, wobbles, distorted basses and sub fallers. Borg Bass and Beast-Mode concentrate on bass: Borg Bass offers reese basses, metallic growls and synth stabs, while Beast-Mode provides distorted, modulated bass riffs. RAW is the bass-focused pack in the bundle, with bass, leads, stabs and subs.

Together the packs offer more than 200 presets per main pack and 60 sample banks in Cyberfunk alone, so the bundle works as a broad library rather than a single-genre set.

Workflow and What You Need to Run It

Each expansion is designed to load into HALO-2, where the presets pass through HALO's processing and sequencers. The sample banks let you work with the underlying material directly, so you can rebuild patches or resample them into your own sounds.

The bundle requires the full version of HALO. The packs are add-ons and cannot be used alone. Cyberfunk's listing notes that HALO-2 should be updated to version 2.0.3 before installing it.

The bundle suits producers who already own HALO-2 and want more sounds for electronic, jungle and bass-driven music, or who want a large set of analog-style starting points without building patches from scratch.
