FM8 Presets - Icicle Drum & Bass is a preset pack of 100 FM8 patches for drum and bass production, designed by Icicle and released by Loopmasters. It covers reeses, basses, leads, arps, pads, risers and drum hits.
This Loopmasters collection brings Icicle's approach to drum and bass into Native Instruments FM8. The 100 presets cover the sound types producers reach for most in the genre, from reeses and subs to leads, arps and risers. Each patch is paired with a MIDI file for starting ideas, and 100 WAV loops rendered from the presets let you drag and drop sounds straight into a session. The pack is part of the Patchworx series, which is aimed at producers who want genre-specific sounds to build their own parts from.
The pack is weighted toward low-end sounds. It includes 16 reeses, 4 bass stabs, 3 subs and 3 wobbles, giving you a range of bass textures to work with.
Icicle is known for heavy FM basses, and this set reflects that focus. The FM8 patches let you shape the tone and movement of each bass, so you can adjust them to fit your mix and tempo.
Beyond the bass, the collection includes 15 leads, 15 arps, 15 drum hits, 10 pads and 5 risers. Together these cover melodic, rhythmic and transitional elements for a full arrangement.
The 99 MIDI files give you a starting point for each preset, and the 100 WAV loops offer ready-made material for quick sketching without building a patch from scratch.
