Deadly Drum & Bass FM8 Presets: DnB Synth Sound Pack by Loopmasters

The 67 FM8 presets are split into 19 basses, 11 pads, 10 FX, 8 leads, 7 plucks, 6 arps, 4 atmospheres and 2 percussion patches. The bass category is the largest, which suits drum and bass production where reese-style and other bass sounds carry much of the groove.

The pads and atmospheres add texture and space, while the plucks and arps cover rhythmic melodic parts. Each category gives you a starting point you can shape with FM8's own controls.

The pack is recorded at 24-bit, 44.1 kHz and totals 167 MB of content.

Alongside the presets, the pack includes 67 MIDI files and 67 WAV loops. Each WAV loop is rendered by fusing a preset with its associated MIDI file, which gives you audio you can drop straight into an arrangement or chop for resampling.

The MIDI files let you keep the notes editable, so you can change the rhythm or harmony and re-render with the preset. This makes the pack useful both as a finished sound source and as a source of ideas to rework.
