01Overview

AETERNA is a preset expansion for the ECLIPSE instrument from Wide Blue Sound. It contains 80 patches built on the ECLIPSE engine, so it is not a standalone instrument and needs a licensed copy of ECLIPSE to run. The developer positions the pack for action, drama and trailer work, with fiery leads, aggressive sequences and large moments meant to add energy to a composition. The patches lean toward tension and abstract textures, which suits producers who want heavier, more ominous colors than a typical general-purpose library.

Sound Character and Intended Use

Wide Blue Sound says AETERNA is designed to amplify the power of ECLIPSE. The patches focus on three areas: fiery leads, aggressive sequences and colossal moments. The developer describes the set as suited to action scenes, dramatic passages and trailers.

The pack is built around tension and abstraction. Producers working on cinematic scoring, trailer cues or aggressive electronic music are the most likely audience, since the sounds are intended to build intensity rather than sit quietly in a mix.

What You Need to Run AETERNA

AETERNA is an expansion for ECLIPSE and cannot be loaded on its own. Wide Blue Sound notes that a copy of ECLIPSE is required for the patches to work.

Because the pack depends on the host instrument, check that you own ECLIPSE before purchasing. The 80 patches are the full content listed for this product.
