01Overview

Oxygen is built around high-frequency enhancement rather than simple EQ boosts. Black Salt Audio describes its process as adding a smooth, musical character to the upper frequencies of a track. Sound Shaping and Top-End Character

Oxygen combines a built-in compressor with a saturation module. The compressor has two modes. Punch emphasizes transients and increases the attack of the top end. Smooth gives a softened dynamic response for a silky high end. The Control knob sets the amount of compression applied to the overall sound.

The saturation module adds harmonics and imperfections that Black Salt Audio says produce a richer, warmer high end. That top end can be boosted without becoming fatiguing to listen to.

Stereo Width and Presets

The stereo version of Oxygen includes a Side Enhancer that widens the high frequencies of a track. It can be applied to stereo buses to add width and shimmer to cymbals, vocals or other sources.

Oxygen includes over 30 built-in presets from producers Henrik Udd, Max Cameron and Forrester Savell, among others, which give a starting point for your own settings.
