Sound and Character of the Vintage German EQ
Antelope Audio describes NEU-PEV as modeled after a rare broadcast equalizer from the 1960s. The developer says the original was known for creamy highs and a tight, punchy low end.
The plugin is built around a fixed-Q design and a musical gain response. Antelope Audio states that its inductors and Haufe transformers were modeled to reproduce the smooth frequency response of the hardware original, which the developer says is why it became a staple in broadcast and mastering facilities.
