01Overview

Krimh Drums is a drum instrument aimed at metal producers who want programmed drums that sound more natural. Every drum hit was sampled by Krimh during a recording process overseen by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios. The instrument adds algorithms meant to make programmed parts feel more realistic, along with built-in studio effects for shaping tone. It is designed to drop into most DAWs through the Kontakt environment.

Sound, Tone Control and Built-In Effects

Krimh Drums ships with presets produced by Jens Bogren, so you can start from a finished sound rather than building one from scratch. The built-in effects cover compression, EQ, transient shaping and saturation, including emulations of vintage FET circuits and tape machine character.

Transient shaping and saturation give you control over attack and grit, which matter most for metal kick and snare sounds. The developer describes the sound as organic and modern, and the built-in trigger samples let you articulate snare and kick hits or load your own one-shots.

MIDI Grooves and Stems for Songwriting

The instrument includes a library of over 100 MIDI grooves and fills performed by Krimh. You can drop them into a track as they are or use them as a starting point for your own arrangements.

The package also includes free stems from the promo song: unmixed tracks with individual drums and other instruments, mixed drums, mixed stems from the other elements, and the MIDI performance by Krimh. These let you study the drum parts in context or mix them yourself.
