Just 4 Kicks uses a neural synth approach to generate kick drums rather than playing back fixed samples. Style presets let you switch quickly between directions such as Distorted, EDM and Industrial, which is useful when you need a starting point or fresh inspiration.

The tone-shaping section gives you six parameters: Fat, Heavy, Hard, Boomy, Deep and Click. These control the character of the kick, from the weight of the low end to the attack at the front of the sound. Because each change is heard immediately, you can work toward a specific sound in a few adjustments.

The one-click workflow is aimed at speeding up kick design. Rather than auditioning many files to find one that fits a track, you generate a kick, adjust the tone controls and move on.

The waveform preview displays the generated kick in real time, so you can see how changes to the controls affect its shape as well as how it sounds. This is helpful when checking the length and level of the low end before you place the kick in your arrangement.
