Eloy Drums is a Kontakt drum instrument by Bogren Digital, built around two full kits and 12 snare options recorded by drummer Eloy Casagrande. It includes over 150 MIDI grooves and fills performed by him.
Eloy Drums captures the style of drummer Eloy Casagrande in a single Kontakt library. It combines two complete drum kits, each reflecting a different phase of his career, with mix processing built into the instrument. The samples were recorded in a purpose-built studio and engineered by Jens Bogren, who worked on the project with Casagrande's playing as the focus.
The library contains two full kits, with 12 snare options split between them. Each kit has two kick drum tunings and six snares.
Casagrande is a 5-tom kit with 11 Paiste cymbal pieces and a 40-inch symphonic gong, built on Tama Starclassic Bubinga shells. The second kit uses Pearl and DW shells, four toms and eight Paiste cymbals, with separate double pedal articulations for its kicks. The developer describes it as a more stripped-back setup.
Bogren Digital says the samples were recorded in the drum room at Fascination Street Studios, which has 23-foot (7-meter) ceilings and no parallel surfaces, shaped to Jens Bogren's specifications.
Two performance features are built in. Anti-Machinegun adds variation to fast consecutive hits to avoid a mechanical sound. Auto Double Kick distributes fast kick patterns across both kicks when needed. The library also includes over 150 MIDI grooves and fills performed by Eloy Casagrande, which can be dropped into a song or edited as a starting point.
