Sound and Character of the Diode-Bridge Design
The diode-bridge compressor is the core of Diode 609. Antelope Audio says the original hardware was based on circuitry from the 2254 and 2253 compressors, found in British 80-series consoles of the 1970s. The developer describes the result as a creamy thickness and weight that fills the space around a sound.
The plugin is positioned for work across a range of sources. The developer presents it as suited to tracks in general and to the mix bus, where it is meant to glue elements together while keeping the signal smooth.
