03In depth

Bass Sounds for Dubstep and Drum and Bass

The pack contains 64 Massive patches split into three groups: 13 lead basses, 35 main bass patches, and 16 mid bass presets. Loopmasters designed the selection to suit drum and bass and dubstep productions, though the developer notes the sounds will also work in other styles.

The lead basses suit melodic bass lines and performance parts, while the main and mid basses cover the core low-end sounds used in most arrangements. Each group gives producers a range of starting points to shape further inside Massive.

The patches were created by DJ Untold, whom Loopmasters describes as a respected figure in the current dubstep scene.

MIDI Files and Patchworx Workflow

Each of the 64 patches comes with a matching MIDI file, which gives producers a rhythmic or melodic part to start from. The MIDI files are ready to edit, so you can change notes and timing to fit your own track.

Patchworx is Loopmasters' series for popular soft synths, and new titles are released regularly. Loopmasters says the packs are easy to download and install.
