MPC Expansion: Pro-8 is a preset expansion pack by Beat for Akai MPC hardware and software. It contains 68 keygroup programs and 340 samples inspired by Dave Smith's Prophet 08 and Prophet 6 synthesizers.
MPC Expansion: Pro-8 is a sound bank for Akai MPC users, built as a Zampler collection. Beat says the 68 programs are based on the Sequential Prophet 08, with additional sounds from a Prophet 6. The expansion ships with 471 MB of content and 340 samples, and includes audio previews so you can audition sounds before loading them into a project. It requires an MPC to run.
Beat describes the content as a collection of keygroup programs built from Prophet 08 patches, enriched with sounds from a Prophet 6. The developer says the Prophet 08 suits pads, stabs, basses, leads, arpeggios and sequences, and this pack is built around those sound types.
The pack contains 68 keygroup programs supported by 340 samples. Audio previews are included, so you can hear each sound before loading it into your MPC.
The expansion works with Akai standalone models MPC One, X, Live, Live mkII and Force, as well as Touch, Renaissance, MPC Beats and MPC Software. Beat notes that it is compatible with the MPC Beats DAW.
An MPC, either hardware or software, is required to use the pack. Because it is a 471 MB download, check available storage on your device before installing.
