01Overview

Groove Shaper Expansion: Afro Swing Essentials is an expansion for Pitch Innovations Groove Shaper, the developer's rhythm-processing effect. It focuses on African percussion grooves and syncopated patterns that can be loaded into Groove Shaper to give drums and loops an Afro swing feel. The developer describes the pack as covering a range of moods, from energetic beats to smoother, soulful patterns. Because it works inside Groove Shaper, it is aimed at producers who already use that plugin and want a themed set of rhythms rather than building them from scratch.

03In depth

African Percussion Grooves for Afro Swing

The pack collects African-style percussion grooves built around percussive elements and syncopated rhythms. Pitch Innovations says the material spans high-energy beats through to smooth, soulful patterns, so it can cover both driving and laid-back tempo feels.

The grooves are intended to add African musicality to a composition. Because they are applied through Groove Shaper, they can be used on existing audio or as a rhythmic layer alongside other parts in a track.

Using Afro Swing Presets in Groove Shaper

Afro Swing Essentials is delivered as presets for Groove Shaper rather than as a standalone instrument. You load a pattern in Groove Shaper and use it to shape the timing and feel of your material.

This makes the pack most useful for producers who already work with Groove Shaper and want a ready-made selection of Afro-inspired swing patterns to audition, adapt, and layer into their productions.
