Electro Synths Massive Presets is a Loopmasters expansion pack for Native Instruments Massive. Dan Larson created the patches for the Patchworx 22 series, aimed at electro, tech and progressive house producers. The collection includes distorted basses, bit-crushed mid basses, twisted synth leads, glitched FX and funky synth sequences, along with side-chained pads. The 66 MIDI files included are meant to be edited, giving you a starting point for your own parts.

Sound Design and Character in the Electro Synths Patch Set

The pack is built around gritty, distorted basses and bit-crushed mid basses, which suit electro and tech house low ends. The 21 basses are the largest group in the Massive set, followed by 29 synths, 10 side-chained pads and 4 FX patches.

The synths lean toward twisted leads and modulated textures, while the side-chained pads are designed to pump against a kick. The developer says the patches are intended to complement electro and house productions but will also work in other styles.

Using the Patches and MIDI Files in Electro and House Production

Each preset can be loaded into Massive and tweaked from there. The 66 MIDI files are split into 41 basses, 15 synths and 10 pads, so you can audition a part and then change the sound to suit your track.

Because the MIDI files come with the patches, the pack works well for sketching a full groove quickly: pair a bass patch with a matching MIDI line, then build the pads and FX around it.
