Transformer Saturation and Low-End Character
The core of Transformer X is the transformer's 'iron' coloration. Its low-frequency saturation adds gentle low-end girth and density, and the developer notes that you can switch this iron character on or off. That makes it possible to move between a transformer-based and a transformer-less version of the same signal, which is useful when you want thickness on one part of a mix and clarity on another.
The plugin is designed to capture dynamic as well as tonal behavior. Because APNN 2.0 learns from how the hardware changes audio in both waveform and spectrum, the saturation responds to the input level rather than only applying a fixed EQ-like color. Phase invert, mono mode and LR/MS processing give you additional control over how the coloration sits in a stereo image.
