Sound Character and Vocal Source Material
ZAK Sound builds Skyridge from 78 vocal-based sampled sources, supplemented by eight wavetables. The developer says the instrument keeps the breath, resonance and imperfections of the human voice while reshaping them into pads, drones and spectral textures.
The presets move between recognizable vocal colors, distant ensemble-like layers and more abstract sounds. Human recordings can become harmonic clouds, luminous pads or dark resonances, which makes the instrument useful for tonal beds as well as moving foreground textures.
