Sound Character and Movement in Obsidian's Presets
The presets are built from layered sampled textures and glassy wavetables, with octave shaping and extra harmonic detail to add depth. Long attacks and releases let tones emerge slowly and dissolve again, and modulation keeps the filters and stereo image moving beneath held notes.
Processing adds grit and space. Granular processing, saturation, bit-crushing, chorus, delay and RaizesVerb are used to introduce instability and a sense of distance. The developer describes the collection as sitting between sound design and playable instrument, moving from heavy cinematic beds to distant pads and subtle pulses.
